I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters met personally to promote next month's boxing match.
Ex two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making huge financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters participated in the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really happening.
